Crown Royal In Depth
Crown Royal first appeared in 1939, as a gift to the King and Queen of England when they came to visit Canada.
It’s blended from fifty different whiskies, including a dose of rye whisky from their Coffey still, which is the only one of its kind in North America.
Due to the extreme temperature changes in Gimli, where Crown Royal is made, the barrels expand and contract while the whisky ages. This subtle shifting is part of what gives the final result its character and smoothness.
In October 2016, Crown Royal became the first alcoholic beverage in the US to include a nutritional information label.
