Partnership Sales Director

We’re looking for a driven, hungry and top performing sales executive to fill an immediate opening for a full-time Sales Director position in our New York headquarters. Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of sales experience in the digital media space.

This is a critical position for VinePair with opportunity for advancement into a management position. This role will allow the Sales Director to make an immediate and long term impact on the organization. We’re looking for someone who is motivated and wants the ability to define and manage the sales process.

In this role you will need to:

  • Close new business consistently at or above quota level
  • Follow up on highly qualified inbound leads and build relationships with prospects and internal stakeholders to grow new business.
  • Build new relationships and grow revenue with outbound sales efforts from start to finish: prospect, identify relevant contacts, negotiate and secure sales of online advertising and sponsorship programs to premium brands across several Lifestyle and Entertaining Categories (e.g., Wine, Beer, Spirits, Luxury Goods, Travel, Entertainment, Automotive, CPG, and Financial Services, )
  • Secure and manage responses to all RFP’s from clients and agencies.
  • Develop and maintain a strong rapport with clients and agencies
  • Serve as an ambassador for the VinePair brand who can clearly articulate our value proposition to the market
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and technology departments to execute sales strategy as the firm introduces enhancements to existing solutions and/or releases new products
  • Work closely with editorial team to create strong, creative, and compelling 360-degree advertising programs and offerings.
  • Create advertiser solutions, advertising proposals, partnership programs for clients and agencies
  • Be creative in generating new ideas and materials for advertisers
  • Travel to meet with agencies and brand managers
  • Work directly with the CEO to generate proposals, strategy and a framework for rapid acceleration of a sales infrastructure
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings
  • Analyze campaign performance statistics and recommend optimized solutions from all the results. Provide on-going reporting and feedback to CEO

You will need to have:

  • 3-5 years experience in media sales with a track record of consistent attainment above quota
  • BA/BS required
  • Experience using Salesforce as a CRM
  • Knowledge and interest in wine, beer and spirits a must!
  • Has a first one in, last one to leave mentality
  • Knows how to sell creatively, not just CPMs and impressions
  • In-depth knowledge of digital media and online marketing technology and its competitive
  • An understanding of the value and challenges of selling a startup brand. Proactive, energetic attitude and desire to work in a results-oriented and deadline-driven environment. Desire and ability to manage multiple relationships at a time. Team player with leadership attributes.

Partnership Sales Account Executive

We’re looking for a driven, hungry and organized individual to fill an immediate opening for a full-time Sales Position in our New York headquarters. Candidates need to have sales experience, whether working on the digital agency side of the business, or on a sales team, with employment in the sales department of a digital media company/publisher being a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the sales cycle from start to finish: prospect, identify relevant contacts, negotiate and secure sales of online advertising and sponsorship programs to premium brands across several Lifestyle and Entertaining Categories (e.g., Wine, Beer, Spirits, Luxury Goods, Travel, Entertainment, Automotive, CPG, and Financial Services, )
  • Develop and maintain a strong rapport with clients and agencies
  • Serve as an ambassador for the VinePair brand who can clearly articulate our value proposition to the market
  • Create advertiser solutions, advertising proposals, partnership programs for clients and agencies
  • Be creative in generating new ideas and materials for advertisers
  • Travel occasionally, including overnight stays
  • Work directly with the CEO to generate proposals and strategy for your prospective targets
  • Work with the Executive Editor on creative brainstorms
  • Analyze campaign performance statistics and recommend optimized solutions from all the results. Provide on-going reporting and feedback to CEO
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales goals and objectives and maximize all media and content marketing growth opportunities for VinePair

Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial self-starter w/ experience selling lifestyle brands for a digital media company strongly preferred; experience in wine, beer and spirits space ideal
  • Proactive, energetic attitude and desire to work in a results-oriented and deadline-driven environment. Desire and ability to manage multiple relationships at a time. Team player.
  • Motivated, tenacious, and resourceful: works independently, doesn’t take “no” for an answer, leader in thinking through and developing necessary materials to close new business. Knows how to sell creatively, not just CPMs and impressions
  • Has experience with integrated selling across multiple platforms (e.g. newsletter, website, events)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Presentation skills, both in- person and via sales decks highly desired. Ability to respond creatively in the moment highly desired.
  • Understands the value and challenges of selling a startup brand
  • Has a first one in, last one to leave mentality
  • 2 years experience in sales
  • BA/BS required
