Hosmer Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Review
In 1972, Maren and Cameron Hosmer planted their first vines on the gentle slopes of Cayuga Lake, establishing the Patrician Verona Vineyard. After years of selling their grapes, the pair decided to create the Hosmer Winery and bottle their own estate wines in 1985. The 70 acre vineyard has continued to allow them to exclusively produce wines with estate-grown fruit ever since. Though they produce great Riesling, as is expected in the Finger Lakes, Hosmer's Sauvignon Blanc is another interesting bottle to try. It has notes of fresh summer melon, ripe pineapple, and lime with hints of grass and hay throughout. There's a nice roundness on the finish, but it still has that signature Finger Lakes acidity.
