The Story Behind The Bourbon Oreo Milkshake

Halloween is on the horizon and that means it’s time to think about treating yourself to something sweet. As an added bonus, the holiday is on a Saturday night this year, which means more time for treats and great Halloween parties.

When I throw a holiday party, I love to create drinks that are reminiscent of childhood flavors, so when I was at my local grocery store and I spotted Halloween Oreos I knew I had use them as an ingredient.

This cocktail has your booze and your treat all in one. It’s chock-full of everything I love including ice cream, bourbon, and Oreo cookies. Who needs candy treats when you can have cookie treats mixed with bourbon and ice cream?

Ingredients

  • 1.5 ounces of bourbon
  • 4 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream (Note: add more ice cream if mixture is too thin or more milk if it too thick)
  • ¼ cup of milk
  • 4 Halloween Oreos

Directions

  1. Fill a blender with bourbon, vanilla bean ice cream, milk, and Halloween Oreos.
  2. Blend the mixture and then pour mixture into serving a serving glass.
  3. Garnish with an additional Oreo if you desire.
