This Manhattan cocktail variation captures a unique citrus flavor with the inclusion of blood orange juice. Its slightly sweet, slightly tart flavor pairs perfectly with the bold and smooth profile of Bulleit Bourbon, while the muddled jalapeño adds the perfect kick to pull it all together.
Ingredients
1 ½ ounces Bulleit Bourbon
1-2 jalapeño wheels
½ ounce blood orange juice
1 ounce sweet vermouth
Blood orange peel twist
Directions
Cut 1-2 wheels of jalapeño (more to add more heat), remove seeds, and chop into small pieces.
In a cocktail shaker, add bourbon and chopped jalapeño, and muddle.
Add remaining ingredients and top with ice.
Stir until thoroughly chilled and strain into a chilled coupe glass using a fine-mesh strainer.
