Wood Family Big Wood Zinfandel 2023 Review
Livermore Valley is a unique AVA in that many of the wineries are still family-owned. Rhonda and Michael Wood began their journey here in 2000, focusing on small-batch boutique wines after years in the airline industry. The “Big Wood” Zinfandel is aged in 25 percent new oak for 17 months, adding texture and a notes of spice and mocha. The palate has a slight sweet kiss, with ripe plums and blackberries wrapped in notes of nutmeg, clove, and dark chocolate.
