Gagnon-Kennedy Monte Rosso Vineyard Zinfandel 2024 Review
The team at Gagnon-Kennedy is showing the Napa wine region that the future is on the horizon. The past isn't dusty, but something to learn from. This Zinfandel is sourced from the famed Monte Rosso vineyard, with vines dating back to 1866. The nose is welcoming and rich, with dense crushed blackberries and cured black olives. Oak is present but doesn’t impede the grape’s inherent qualities. This is a calmer vintage than the 2023, and it is unbelievable. The absolute focus and balance cannot be overstated. This vintage offers a remarkably soft, plush weight on the palate, with silky tannins and bright acidity to even it out.
