San Stefano Gran Selezione Chianti Classico DOCG 2011 Review
There is only 10% cab in this wine, the rest is Sangiovese, but that small amount does so much. Sangiovese is earthy but vibrant and the Cab comes in and calms everything down, in a good way, softening the cherry notes allowing rose petals to arise, accentuating the vanilla profile to balance the earth tones. This a true Greve Chianti with concentrated flavors that would pair very well with anything off the grill.
