Markus Altenburger Blaufränkisch vom Kalk 2022 Review
Markus Altenburger organically farms about 42 acres of vineyards in Austria's Burgenland region. This juicy red, made with the local Blaufränkisch grape, is meant to be his easy-drinking, everyday wine. It has concentrated red fruit notes of cherries and wild berries, with complex hints of pepper, earth, and smoke. Its fresh acidity and silky tannins lend to a delightful medium-bodied profile on the palate.
