Gamble Family Vineyards Paramount Red 2018 Review

The Gamble Family has been farming in the Napa Valley since the early 20th century. Today, Tom Gamble carries on the family legacy making new-world wine with an old-world sensibility. It says on the back of the label, "Grown, harvested, and slowly made into wine..." and that's exactly how this wine feels. It has deep and heady savory notes of balsamic alongside an aroma of blackberry fruit. The alcohol also comes through on the nose, but it adds to the depth. The palate has a grippy tannic frame that holds up to the medium fruit and slight oak aromas. The overall balance is very sound and could use a lean steak.
