Fattoria di Luiano Chianti Classico DOCG 2016 Review
What a successful blending of Sangiovese with Merlot and Cab; neither of the French varieties (10%) take away from the cherry tang of the main grape. The acidity is great, the alcohol is on point, and the tannin is intertwined. Beyond cherry the nose is filled with rose petals, forest floor (earthy) and hints of cinnamon and balsamic. The mouthfeel is rich, round, juicy, alive and bright while being broad and chewy. There is so much going on here. This wine deserves to be shared with many friends around a dinner table.
