Castello Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2014 Review

This wine will not knock you outta the park, nor will it garner applause at a dinner party, or raise eyebrows, but it will happily sit on a table at any get together and aid in fueling the conversation. This is a good wine with little complexity other than some red fruit notes that kind of fade into each other and a distant earthy note that comes and goes. It does have some prominent rose petal aromas wafting up, but it’s the sweet kiss of oak that blends everything together in a blur. Not a bad bottle of wine if wine is not the only focus.
