Blicks Lane Vineyards Pinot Noir 2022 Review

Clyde and Nigel Sowman, the duo behind Walnut Block wines in Marlborough, New Zealand, started Blicks Lane when they decided to expand their previous operation. There were no more plots available in the Walnut Block vineyard, so they had to reach across the road and work with the adjacent site. The Blicks Lane wines are appropriately named after the road that runs between the two areas. Both vineyards are organically farmed and produce wonderfully expressive wines. The Pinot Noir has notes of tart red fruit, vanilla, and a hint of spice. It's fresh and well-balanced — and seriously over-delivers for the sub-$20 price tag.
