Bieler Père & Fils Bandol Rosé 2022 Review
Bandol. It’s small, it’s warm, and the Mourvèdre grape thrives here. After years making Grenache based wines Philippe Bieler and his son established this new winery to focus solely on rosé, like this little gem here. It is mostly Mourvèdre, which gives the wine some comfy weight that is easily contrasted and balanced by finesse on the palate in the form of excellent natural acidity. The nose is citrus with the pithy sweet touch of white cherries and a hint of tropical fruit. Punchy yet elegant.
