Writers’ Tears ‘Red Head’ Single Malt Irish Whiskey Review

Crafted from a triple-distilled single malt, this whiskey is aged exclusively in sherry butts, which lend a rich, copper hue (and also influenced its name). The intensity of its aromas is striking, with ripe banana notes taking center stage, followed by hints of oak, complex dried fruits, and nuts. A luscious, fruity palate awaits in glass, with ripe banana notes from the nose carrying through and mingling with rich sherry flavors as well as hints of spice and vanilla. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, with just the right amount of warmth to balance the sweetness. While a little on the pricier side, this whiskey would more than hold its own in cocktails.
