Weingut Jürgen Leiner 'Handwerk' Spätburgunder Trocken 2021 Review
This bottle from Germany's Pfalz region is a wonderful introduction to German Pinot Noir, known locally as Spätburgunder. While Germany has a long history producing this variety, warming temperatures are leading to higher-quality, riper expressions of the grape here, making now a great time to get into these wines. This bottle opens with a light spritz and fresh aromas of cranberry and cherry. The palate is full of juicy red and blue fruit notes supported by a vibrant acidity.
