Review
The Pittard family came onto the winemaking scene in 2014 purchasing the Buttonwood Grove Winery. Since then they have expanded and continued to win accolades from tasters and competitions alike. Six Eighty Cellars is a new project dedicated to sustainability (the name is a reference to the 680 foot distance from the bottom of Cayuga Lake to the highest point of their vineyards. There is a prominent leanness to this wine that comes through on the nose and palate. But that leanness is very well balanced with classic, chewy Pinot Noir fruit, bringing up the base of the light-bodied wine. Bring the cheese plate please.
