Scar of the Sea Bassi Vineyard Pinot Gris & Pinot Noir 2022 Review
Mikey & Gina Giugni began making wine in San Luis Obispo in 2012 and to this day source grapes from vineyards that farm for the future. Their lineup of wine is classic and exploratory like this co-ferment of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Bright ripe fruit complements the nose with a short burst of cinnamon and cherry. The mouthfeel has a good dry grip with a jammy center. The tannins are prominent but not overbearing as the juicy fruit comes in with a calm depth.
