Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2015 Review
Not sure if it is due to the sheer amount of wine made by this brand, or maybe the vintage was a bit rainy, but this wine shows the lighter side of Chianti and struggles to bring depth and complexity. . The wine is light bodied, with leading notes of rose petals and twiggy underbrush on the nose. On the palate these aromas are muted a bit with classic cherry notes showing up but fading quickly on the finish. It's a workhorse wine that shows up on many shelves and lists across the US, so it's worth considering when the choices are slim.
