Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2019 Review

Founder Anne Moses, on the winery's website, talks about a trip to Burgundy in the early '80s that blew her and co-founder James Hall away. They were so inspired by the skill and ability to craft amazing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and decided to bring that approach to Napa and Sonoma. Since 1986 they have had long-lasting relationships with farmers that have provided fruit to make a line of acclaimed wine. This Chardonnay is a great example of this. Coming in at a cool 13.5% alcohol everything is in its right place. The nose retains a nice minerality beneath the focused fruit. The mouthfeel is light, with just the right oak exposure. The natural acidity is very present but well integrated.
