Nc'nean Organic Single Malt Scotch Whisky Review
This non-age-stated release from the relatively young Nc'nean distillery was matured in a trio of American whiskey, specially treated red wine, and Oloroso sherry casks, making for an atypical but enjoyable profile. Wildflowers, stone fruits, and cereal notes hit a crescendo on the nose and palate, and slide into a long, generous finish. We don’t often talk about the nature of Scotch’s base ingredients, but several new distilleries like Nc'nean are making crucial steps to bring sustainability into that conversation.
