Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series FAE 01 Review

This is the third release in Maker's Mark's Wood Finishing Series, and the first of two for 2021. When describing this bourbon, it's hard to look beyond the words of Maker's Mark's master of maturation Jane Bowie, who has said it tastes “just like a barrel warehouse smells.” If you've ever walked among lines of aging casks in a rickhouse, you'll know what an enticing prospect that is. But even before we arrive on the palate, this bourbon bowls you over with an enchanting mix of potpourri, earth, and spice aromas. With intoxicating complexity, this is another homerun from Maker's Mark in what remains a criminally underrated series of limited edition whiskeys.
