Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series BRT-02 Review

The Wood Finishing Series from Maker's Mark debuted in 2019 and features mature, cask-strength whiskey that's aged in barrels with differing combinations of additional wooden staves to create unique flavor profiles. The 2022 releases, BRT-01 and BRT-02 launched simultaneously to showcase the impact of aging in different areas of the distillery's rickhouse, with BRT-01 aged in warmer, higher areas and BRT-02 aged in cooler, lower parts. Both releases maintained the incredibly high standards of the series, but BRT-02, which was aged in French oak staves, stood out as the winner this year with its alluring, perfumed character and depth of flavors.
