Kalasi Kanchi Heritage Reserve 2017 Review
Nikhila Narra Davis comes from a long line of family farmers. In India, they farmed turmeric, cocoa, and other products for five generations. Here in Texas, she says, "we continue to honor our heritage, but we have reincarnated our farming roots by growing wine grapes!" This bottle shows that Texas wine can age well. It has the tertiary aromas of an aged wine with some leathery fruit that is slightly raisinated, but holding up nicely. The palate has a well-settled fruit core that fills out the mouthfeel while maintaining good acidity. There is an added sherry-like note on the palate that demands some artisanal cheeses.
