Highland Park 21 Year Old
Review
This rare release was built from a mere 48 casks of three types: sherry-seasoned American oak quarter casks; refill sherry butts; and first-fill, sherry-seasoned European hogsheads. There is the expected sherry/peat sweet/smoky balance that is beloved in all Highland Park releases, but this offers way more richness, elegance, and complexity, with warming wood notes on the backend and a lingering, baking spice finish.
