Fort Ross Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018 Review
At Fort Ross the sea is in view. Like literally, from the winery. And the wine absolutely reflects the location. Fort Ross vineyard has been making wine here since the turn of the Millennium in this mountain vineyard upwards of 1700 feet above sea level. The sea spray (salty) note on the nose is undeniable with some good oak flavor swimming beneath earthy violet petals. The palate is soft with a nice viscosity but lively acidity keeping the wine refreshing. Here's to mountain fruit!
