Forge Cellars Railroad Cabernet Franc 2023 Review
Forge Cellars specializes in terroir-driven wines from Seneca Lake, like this Cabernet Franc from the Railroad Vineyard. This site on the east side of the lake was planted in the early ‘90s and sits at an elevation of 720 feet with dense, gravelly loam soils. The result is a pure expression of Cabernet Franc with green pepper and crisp autumn leaves on the nose. It’s medium-bodied on the palate with tart red berry flavors accented by more savory notes.
