Domaine de la Mordorée ‘La Reine des Bois’ Tavel Rosé 2022
Review
Domaine de la Mordorée is a family affair. Today Madeleine Delorme and daughter Ambre have taken on Christophe's, Madeleine’s husband, work. The Delormes work with vineyards across the Rhone Valley from Lirac to Condrieu, but are based in the only AOC in France dedicated solely to rosé, Tavel. Since the '80s the estate has been farming sustainably, now holding organic and biodynamic certifications. This rosé is a great example of the wines of Tavel and shows the specific skill of Domaine de la Mordorée. This is a rosé with depth, you can sense it on the nose with wafts of white flowers and dense brambly fruit tinged with herbs. The palate has racy acidity but with 14% alcohol, the palate is all structure and a welcome medium weight.
