Cross Keys Vineyards Ali d'Oro Dessert Wine 2015 Review

In true American historical context this wine defines how we began as a wine culture. Hybrid grapes were developed to withstand our climate in the Eastern US and once we figured out the Euro vine thing, they fell by the wayside. But today they're seeing a renaissance. Dessert wines are where these hybrids have been most successful and this one, made from two well known varieties, is a great example of that. The high acid amplifies a spicy orange rind with hints of honey and almonds. It's a very balanced wine that screams cheese plate!
