Compass Box Orchard House
Review
Quite frankly, we get very few blended Scotch submissions these days, but despite the lack of competition, Orchard House shone brightly this year. This blend of single malt whiskies from Caol Ila, Clynelish, and several undisclosed distilleries was designed to be fruit forward as the name suggests and, indeed, it is apple-y on the palate, to the point of being almost brandy-like. A tad one-note, but never not delicate and delicious, this is a shining example of mastering a flavor profile through skillful blending.
