Castello di Querceto 'Il Picchio' Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2015 Review
Upon sticking your nose into this wine your brain will swoon with layered aromas of bright cherry fruit, violets, and earth along with slight notes of licorice, anise and a hint of oak. But once this wine hits your palate the tannin takes over and almost masks everything. This wine is a classic blend of native Tuscan grapes and it will be a powerful, soulful wine in about three years. It’s a wine to sit on and save for the annual corkage to see where it’s going.
