Benzinger Estate Paradiso De Maria Sonoma Mountain Sauvignon Blanc 2017 Review
When a pioneering green-farming Cali wine family sells out to a big umbrella company after 30 years of doing the good work, you would think the quality may be compromised. NOPE! Benzinger wine continues to be solid, affordable, and balanced and this single-vineyard biodynamic Sauvignon Blanc, from the first plot planted 30 years ago, confirms this. It is summer in a bottle, with bright notes of green apple and pear along with a dollop of honeysuckle and the smell of freshly baled hay. The minerality is a cool breeze and balances all of these aromas almost to perfection. This is a true biodynamic wine, it doesn’t smell like feet, and is worth the investment to share with fellow wine lovers.
