Badia a Coltibuono Chainti Classico DOCG 2016 Review

Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo; these are the OG grapes of Chianti and the only varieties in this wine. It is a testament to the power of a native blend. Warm and soulful with just the right amount of alcohol peeping through among floral and cherry notes and just a hint of oak. The beauty of this wine is the Ciliegiolo calming the acidity just a bit, concentrating the wine and adding some savory earth and cooking herb tones. For a Chianti this wine is quite expressive and aromatic and will be a treat for any Classico lover, especially one who loves wines from the Gaiole commune.
