Au Contraire Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir 2014 Review
I could smell the alcohol as I poured my first ounce. 14% is not too crazy, but there are some balance issues, especially with some age on it. There is definitely some inherent cherry and oak-influenced vanilla but all other aromas that would like a voice are denied and pushed to the nosebleed seats. This is a good gift for fans of the boozy and ripe Pinot style and pairs with hors d'oeuvre and social banter more than it does with food focused events.
