On the label of this powerful and age-worthy Sardinian blend is the image of a 5,000-year-old statue of the Mother Goddess found buried among the estate's vines and is now safe in the Archaeological Museum of Cagliari. The Argiolas family sees this as a testament to their ties to the land. The Turriga bottling is a blend of native varieties, with with 85 percent Cannonau, and 5 percent each of Carignano, Bovale Sardo, and Malvasia Nera. The nose draws you in with deep earthy fruit and a savory layer, reminiscent of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is commanding and balanced with great depth held up by high acidity that brings the mouthfeel into harmony.
