The Story Behind The Santa's Pregame

We can only hope old Saint Nick isn’t drinking too much gin before making his rounds on Christmas Eve. But for those of us who aren’t gearing up to steer a sleigh around the globe, a yuletide highball should be in the cards.

That’s where Santa’s Pregame comes in. The simple mix of cranberry-infused gin and ginger beer hits like the discontinued Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash that used to ring in the holidays, and makes for a great low-lift drink to serve on the night before Christmas. For the garnish, the drink’s creator, Keven Ordoñez, suggests lightly charring the rosemary sprig before putting it in the glass to impart a touch of smokiness to the cocktail.
