The Story Behind The Pink Strawberry Mojito
As the warmer summer days start to make way for fall, I am making the best of what I have left with delicious, fruit-filled Mojitos. This pink strawberry version gets its color from grenadine syrup, which I use in lieu of sugar. It features all the usual suspects like rum, lime, and mint, and I added some strawberries to give it a little more flavor. The berries also provide additional natural sugars to complement the grenadine and balance the final cocktail.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces white rum
- ½ ounce grenadine
- 1 ounce lime juice
- Soda (to top)
- 2 strawberries
- 6 mint leaves
Directions
- Combine rum, grenadine, strawberries, and mint in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake to chill and combine.
- Pour entire contents into a Collins glass.
- Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and strawberry.
- Enjoy!
