Zaca Mesa Estate Inceptive Red 2016 Review
Fire up the grill because this wine demands it. This is a great example of the legacy of the “Rhone Rangers”. It’s full bodied but balanced and soft on the palate. There are really nice savory aromas of herbs and balsamic, along with blackberry fruit. The acidity is right where it needs to be so that the fruit has nice depth with a viscous quality that makes you want to chew it (chewy). The alcohol is high but very well integrated. It screams for a medium rare steak or a burger, maybe even a slathered brisket.
