Weis Vineyards Pinot Noir 2020 Review
From the Mosel to California and at last in the Finger Lakes, winemaker Hans Peter Weis has found his home. He and his wife Ashlee began Weis in 2016 focusing on German-style wines. This cool climate in Pinot is a marvel! It has a nice medium nose with soft earthy fruit that would warm you up on a cold day — and the Finger Lakes has plenty of those. The palate is deceptively deep with a good core of fruit and just-right acidity to balance and refresh. This is a true success for this grape in this region.
