Tapiz Malbec Black Tears 2018
Review
Owner Patricia Ortiz brought together the skills of her home country and Bordeaux with winemakers Fabian Valenzuela and Jean-Claude Berrouet (with Petrus for over forty years). The result is a Malbec that has been built to last. It is weighty with densely concentrated fruit. A definite tannic frame counters the comfortable heft with excellent natural acidity. The wine softens a little with some oak. It is a big wine with both power and elegance —undeniably Malbec but would please a Cali Cab enthusiast.
