T. Berkley Leaning Oak Cabernet Franc 2016 Review
I smell pepper! I smell spice! Finally a Cab Franc from the golden state that is true to the grape from which it was made. It still is definitely a Cali wine with juicy plum and cherry aromas mixing with hints of vanilla and baking chocolate but it’s those pepper and spice notes that are inherent in the grape, though often absent, that really bring this wine its success. It is unfined, unfiltered, comes from cool-climate Carneros, so win win all around.
