Starlight Distillery Orchard Blossom Review
This is an example where so much ridiculousness is promised on the label that you know the distillery must have figured something out. In this case, the well-regarded Indiana farm distillery finishes two of their different rye mash bills in barrels previously filled with Hampden Jamaican rum; honey; and peach flavored whiskey. Well OK! Designed to taste like the family’s “orchard in bloom,” this has an insane, estery rum funk on the nose and a palate that is fruity and bright. The most sui generis rye in our entire tasting and one of the better, more interesting spirits we’ve had this year.
