Sokol Blosser Dundee Hills Estate Pinot Noir 2016 Review
This wine can go a few years. Even with only 13.5% alcohol there is a strength to this wine, with a significant grip on the palate that should be the tannin, and is, but is perceived as the acidity due to the tannins being wonderfully interwoven. It is a Pinot with a voice, showing classic cherry fruit framed by a tight cranberry aroma along with some cinnamon/mint vibes mingling with more savory mushroom and black olive notes. The oak is balanced, with soft coconut and sweet wood. It is drinking great right now but all of these characteristics are dancing around, trying to find their footing, and when they do, the wine will sing.
