Scar of the Sea Topotero Vineyard Gamay 2022 Review
Mikey and Gina Giugni began making wine in San Luis Obispo in 2012 and to this day source grapes from vineyards that farm for the future. This Gamay comes from the organic five acre Topotero vineyard. Half of the grapes were fermented as whole-clusters to bring out some of the more savory vibes of the variety, and it comes through in the glass. It has a subtle peppery nose with herby berry fruit aromas and a hint of citrus. This wine has an awesome palate with good medium fruit depth and rounding acidity. The savory vibe carries to the palate.
