Roederer Estate L'Ermitage Brut 2012 Review
The bubbles are fine and the body is round, with pockets of depth that show aromas of toasted hazelnut and ripe pear. There is a creaminess, with a hint of flaky pie pastry from the yeast breaking down and adding to said depth, with what I can only describe as lemons rolled in sugar and baked. This wine is only made in exceptional vintages, mirroring the Champagne approach, yet this does still have some reserve wine from 2006 and 2007, 4%, making this a true American Sparkler. Its ripe and round fruit make it a great crowd pleaser.
