Ritual Casablanca Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2016 Review
If you're not familiar with Chile, Casablanca is one of the country’s white wine capitals with sandy clay soil, significant influence from the Pacific Ocean via the Humboldt current coming up from Antarctica, and vines protected by the Andes to the east. And the three plots Sofia Araya blends into this wine show that in spades. On the nose a hint of bell pepper is layered with bright white peach, hints of mandarin and a touch of honeysuckle. You are rewarded on the palate with all of these characteristics soaring around vibrant acidity leading to a medium finish whetting your palate for more. At under $20, this sustainable wine should be a go-to.
