Trimbach 'Cuvée Frédéric Emile' Riesling 2009 Review

The second bottling from one of Alsace’s most historic producers, this wine has complexity and depth that is absolutely encapsulating, so be sure to open it when you have time to explore and enjoy it. The nose has broad richness, a kind of sticky, exotic scent highlighted by honey, orange, and ginger in addition to definite dark rock minerality. Broadness continues on the palate, with much more of a savory element accenting the raw honey, orange blossom, tart peach, and lemon zest. With a thankfully long, evolving finish, this is a special occasion Riesling that will just keep getting better.
