Sylvain Dittière La Porte Saint Jean Saumur-Champigny 2012 Review
This Cabernet Franc might trick you into thinking its an older-vintage Syrah if it weren’t for the plentiful, juicy fruit. It’s incredibly meaty and savory, particularly on the nose, with a distinct dirty, rustic, barnyard-like edge. Juicy blueberry and blackberry come through on the medium-bodied, moderately tannic palate to balance out the earth, but this is absolutely a wine for those who prefer a more savory bottle.
