Brendan Stater-West Saumur Rouge 2021 Review
Brendan Stater-West is an up-and-coming producer in Saumur who trained at the esteemed Domaine Guiberteau before starting his own label in 2015. This wine exemplifies the Loire Valley's classic earthy, savory style with complex aromas of green and red peppers, dried herbs, and cedar on the nose. The palate is spicy with notes of black raspberries and cedar. It's medium-bodied and wonderfully balanced, with enough acidity and tannin to give it structure without overwhelming the wine's delicate features.
