Pinot Noir
Flâneur Flanerie Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015
Review
Flâneur is a relatively new winery (their first vintage was 2013) making small runs of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from their two estate vineyard parcels. If this fantastic bottling is any indication, they are a winery to watch out for. The wine’s color is medium-dark, and features very prominent aromas of black cherries, wild raspberries, and pine forest. The wine's flavors are an enveloping mix of fruited and savory, which elegantly coat the palate and don’t go away for some time. The texture is clean but expressive, and even though the wine is 14.5% alcohol, there’s not a hint of heat. It’s always a joy to find a wine that is so bold and yet so nuanced at the same time. If it were a person, it would be introverted but confident as hell. If Flâneur continues producing wine like this, they will soon be regarded as one of Oregon’s top producers.
